    Merck registers Phase 3 trial of ensifentrine for COPD exacerbation prevention

    Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC has registered a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study (ENHANCE-3) to evaluate ensifentrine (MK-5884) for preventing moderate and severe COPD exacerbations. The trial plans to enroll 2136 participants, begin on October 23, 2026, and reach primary completion on April 29, 2029.
